Amlaku Bikss Eshetie

I was born and raised in Ethiopia, but I am currently based in Colorado, USA. I am a happy father of three.

I believe children are blessings in life, and I love to work for/with children. Evident to this passion is the work I have been doing for a non-profit organization called Open Hearts and Big Dreams (OHBD). I translated most of their bilingual children’s literacy books, Ready Set Go Books (also available on amazon.com) from English into Amharic. I also authored a couple of them.

My ‘Amharic for Foreigners and the Ethiopian Diaspora’ book is a great gift (more than a contribution) to fellow Ethiopians in the United States who have been struggling to raise children in two cultures, American and ETHIOPIAN!

Translation is my other passion. Prior to migrating to the US, I had left my teaching job at a public university in Ethiopia and started my own language service business in 2011. Since then and to date, I have been a truly passionate translator of English into Amharic. In the course of all these times, I have witnessed that ‘experience sharpens’! I have grown a lot in the translation experience.
