Daniel Abreha

Daniel Abreha is an Ethiopian author and a survivor of the ISIS massacres in Libya. He is best known for documenting his harrowing experience of being kidnapped and witnessing the brutal execution of his fellow countrymen in 2015.

He authored a book titled ሃያ ሶስት “23” , which serves as a memoir of his journey. The title refers to the number of people in his specific group during that period of captivity. In the book, Daniel describes the psychological and physical torture inflicted by the terrorists, the moments leading up to the infamous beach executions, and the miraculous circumstances that allowed him to survive and eventually return to Ethiopia.

Since his return, he has shared his testimony on various platforms, including EBS TV and other media outlets, to warn youth about the dangers of illegal migration and to honor the memory of those who were killed.
