Dr. Ashenafie Tsegaye

In March 2026, Dr. Tsegaye published his book, The Road to Detroit: Technology, Opportunity, and an Immigrant’s 48-Year Automotive Odyssey.  What began as one man’s journey in 1981, arriving in the United States with just two suitcases and a vision for a better future, has evolved into a powerful narrative of perseverance, growth, and impact. Over a 30-year career in the automotive industry, Dr. Tsegaye experienced first-hand the challenges of adapting to unfamiliar systems, overcoming cultural barriers, and striving for success in environments where guidance and representation were often limited.
